When I received some “Wolfishly Sinister” DK Merino Silk from my dear friend Barry of Knitting Wolf Luxury Yarns, I fell in love with the elemental deep blues, greens, and coppery browns at play. The imagery of the sea wolves that populate the West Coast of Vancouver Island surrounded by our rich ocean waters was invoked. When the tide is low, one must be mindful when you venture down to the shore for the sea wolves can be found harvesting amidst the tide pools, seaweed and driftwood. I wanted to create a cowl that would allow the richness of the colourway to take centre stage. This vertical drop stitch allows for an interesting yet meditative knit while also showcasing the beauty of the colours. It produces a reversible wavy texture making it versatile and easy to style. Wear the cowl single or double looped, or use a shawl cuff to hold it perfectly in place.
