Hedgewitch is a tribute to the ancestors and the modern wise women (and men) who venture past borders and into the wilds and beyond where all manner of beasts and beings dwell. A modern take on a traditional hap, pair it with other woollens in winter or as a top layer on summer nights. Drape it around the neck as an oversized scarf or wrapped and tied traditionally over your shoulders and around your waist as a modern twist on an ancestral tradition. This is a relaxing, easy to remember knit with texture details to keep it interesting. Pick your favourite spot that takes you beyond the borders, be it by the fire, on the beach, and slip into the meditative rhythm.

Pattern provides chart as well as written instructions.

Notes:
Yardage and modifications: This pattern uses almost all of the yardage required of the recommended Hinterland Range Yarn. Most testers found they were left with enough to spare while others found if they were a slightly loose knitter, that they may have required slightly more than recommended to finish the shawl. As such, there are two options that knitters have found suitable:

a) purchase extra yarn if you suspect you may need it. This usually resulted in a shawl with larger finished measurements.
Or
b) some knitters, despite following gauge found that their stitches ended up looser and taking up more yardage than anticipated, and accommodated this by reducing the repeats of the body of the shawl and garter stitch border by 1 or 2 repetitions, to suite their remaining yardage. This resulted in a similar sized shawl to the finished measurements stated above.
